Priests of the Moon
The Priests of the Moon are all women (although this was not always the case). The Moon religion has been forced underground by the Priests of the Sun and being found practicing attracts severe penalties. Wealthy practitioners of the Moon religion used to possess mechanical “Moonfinders”, clockwork devices which predicted the time and location on the horizon of moonrise and moonset along with the moon’s phase. These were used for determining ritual times and directions. Now that the cult may not be practiced openly, the remaining moonfinders which were not destroyed by the Sun priests are greatly valued and carefully concealed, as they enable correctly-directed worship in hidden places where the moon itself is not visible. Tamas is a leader among the Moon worshippers but is not a priest, despite their desire to ordain him. He has said he will allow them to do so when the Sun priests allow women to be ordained in their religion. There is no Archpriest of the Moon corresponding to the Archpriest of the Sun. Worshippers meet in small cells and the clergy coordinate among themselves as best they can.
